Time to start training …

Lakeland 50

After following The Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 this year online, I decided to take the plunge and enter next years edition of The Montane Lakeland 50. Luckily I managed to enter the race when the entries opened, as it filled up literally within hours.

Trickier was finding accommodation in Coniston during the event. Although camping is included during the event, the prospect of a proper bed, a good night rest and the fact we’ll be staying for a couple of days made me search for a B&B that hadn’t booked up yet for the weekend. I managed to find one within ‘short walking distance’, e.g. 2 -3 miles. However I am pretty sure that I am not going to walk all the way home on race day and rather take the luxury of a car that night/morning.

With that all sorted out, its time to start some proper training…
